Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- Both Onondaga County and Oneida County are seeing and uptick in flu for this time of year.
There have been 196 confirmed cases in Onondaga County so far this year; at this time last year there were none.
In Oneida County, there have been 504 cases this year.
Health experts say this is an important reminder to get the flu vaccine.
“We really want to encourage people to protect yourself and those that you're around, get vaccinated - especially women who are pregnant, have health conditions, somebody that might have asthma, cancer, any kind of chronic illness, you want to be sure you're getting a flu shot. It's the best way to protect yourself and others,” said Kathy Mogle with the Onondaga County Health Department.
