Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- The Valley Stallion Pee Wee Pop Warner team has a big task to tackle -- and that’s before they even hit the field. The team has traveled all over the country and has earned themselves a winning record. Now, they have the chance to go to Disney World to compete, but the team of 10 and 11 year olds has to raise almost $50,000 in the next two days to afford the trip.
“We need all the help that we can get. Just anything, pennies, 50 cents, quarters, dollars...just to go to Disney,” said football player Prince Smith.
“I know me and my teammates we showed a lot of courage and we not scared. We brave soldiers. Our coach tell us every minutes it's all about heart and no sacredness,” said another football player Shamar Everson.
It’s the first time in a decade that a Central New York team has earned the privilege to go to Disney.
So far, the Stallions have raised $2,500.
