Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- A new national report says that one in nine U.S. high school seniors have used synthetic marijuana in the last year and one local lawmaker is launching a cyber fight to put a stop to it.

Assemblyman William Barclay has started an online petition to support a law banning the sale and use of synthetic marijuana, which is sold as incense under names like “spice” and “Happy Shaman.”

Barclay says parents have contacted his office, asking for help because their kids are using the products, which can be dangerous to their health.
