Otisco (WSYR-TV) -- On Friday, NewsChannel 9 showed you a behind the scenes look at Central New York’s version of Extreme Makeover, Home Edition. The Johnson family has been in their new home for two weeks now, so we decided to catch up with them to see how they’re settling in.
In terms of their physical surroundings, things have certainly changed for the better for the Johnson family. By now, we’ve all seen the images of Dave, Diana and their children getting their first glimpse of their newly renovated home, thanks to the work of more than 200 volunteers who worked around the clock to get the project done.
Diana tells us she still doesn’t feel like they deserve all of this, but she adds the family plans to give back by taking part in similar projects.
Many costs for the project still need to be covered. If you'd like to donate, make out a check (payable to "Johnson Family Home Project") and mail it to: Johnson Family Home Project, C/O Syracuse Fire Department FCU, 211 Wilkinson Street, Syracuse, NY 13204.
