Camillus (WSYR-TV) – The Sophie Skate-a-Thon to benefit the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation will be held Saturday at Shove Park in Camillus.

The event was named in memory of Sophie Kawejsza, a third-grader at Stonehedge Elementary School in Camillus who was diagnosed with a large brain tumor five days before her eighth birthday. Although the tumor was removed, she passed away in January, two weeks shy of her ninth birthday.

The event in her honor will run from noon to 6 p.m.
