Derrick Dorsey, the director of the 8th Annual Duck Race to End Racism, stopped by Bridge Street to tell us about the event going on this weekend.

According to its website, the Duck Race to End Racism is an “annual event with thousands of floating rubber ducks racing in heats down a portion of Onondaga Creek near the Syracuse Inner Harbor.” The Duck Race works to raise both funds and awareness to combat racism.

Chris and Tanja helped assemble the Wipeout duck which was the winner of a 9wsyr.com poll voted on by you, the viewer.

The 8th Annual Duck Race to End Racism is Saturday at the Syracuse Inner Harbor from noon until 4 p.m. Tickets to purchase your own duck in the race are $5, and admission as well as ice cream from Byrne Dairy is free.
