Becky Firman ("Crazy Diamond") and Erin Coleman ("Erynn Go Brawl") from the Assault City Roller Derby, joined us on Bridge Street to discuss their second home bout of the season, where they will be hosting the Ithaca Bluestockings. This will be the rematch of the team’s first bout of 2010. The all-women’s flat track roller derby league consists of working mothers, professionals and students, ranging in age from 21 to 45. The goal of the league and the event is help local communities and promote women’s empowerment. Since its inception in late 2007, Assault City has competed on the road in Vermont, New Jersey and Ohio, as well as throughout Upstate New York.
The bout will take place Saturday, June 19, 2010 at the Greater Baldwinsville Ice Arena at 7:00p.m.
