Food for Thought: Pomegranates

They’re tangier than strawberries but sweeter than cranberries; pomegranates are filling up the produce isle from now through early winter!  Pomegranates are loaded with vitamin C, potassium folate and fiber.  To find the fruit when it’s ripe, look for a dark red color and firm skin with no blemishes or soft spots.  Also, it should feel heavy in your hand.  Pomegranates are delicious in juice, iced tea, regular tea or simply quartered with the seeds taken out.  Remember, pomegranates are not only tasty but healthy too!
