It's homecoming weekend at Syracuse University... 'Orange Central' as it has been dubbed by the school.
The Dean of University College Bea Gonzalez was joined by Traditions Commission President Sakina Kader to talk about some of the many events they have planned. Ms. Gonzalez is also Co-Chair of 'Orange Central' this year.

A Conversation with George Saunders is planned for 9:30am Friday, at Hergenhan Auditorium in the Newhouse 3 building. Saunders is a best-selling author who has been named to Time Magazine's annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world. He also teaches at SU and lives in the Catskills. This event is free and open to the public. SU asks that you register for this event by visiting the official Homecoming website.
The Arents Award Luncheon is at 11:30am Friday at Goldstein Auditorium in the Schine Student Center. The George Arents Award is Syracuse University's highest alumni honor, created to recognize alumni who are pioneers and leaders in their fields. The 2013 recipients are Taye Diggs, Carole Swid Eisner, Henry Grethel, Sid Lerner, and George Saunders. The luncheon is $25 per person and you need to register at the official Homecoming website.
An Evening with Brian Dennehy will be held Friday at 7:30pm, at Hergenhan Auditorium in the Newhouse 3 building. Dennehy is an award winning actor from films such as Cocoon, Presumed Innocent and Tommy Boy and on stage in Death of a Salesman and Long Day's Journey into Night. He and his wife are also parents of a current SU student in the College of Visual and Performing Arts.
