Upstate New York is renowned for the wine we produce, but did you know that we also produce great tasting beer?  Don Cazentre, Food and Drink Editor from The Post-Standard, came by to let our hosts test-taste some local brews!  They first started with one of Budweiser’s seasonal beers, which is brewed in Baldwinseville, then tasted Sacket’s Harbor 1812 made in Sackets Harbor, and then Middle Ages which is brewed right here in Syracuse.  Lastly the hosts tasted Southern Tier which is made in Lakewood, and Ommegang which is brewed in Coopers Town.  Don also told us about Syracuse Beer Week which is being presented by GreatBrewers.com.  The goal of Syracuse Beer Week is to enhance beer knowledge and appreciation through a series of events in the great city of Syracuse!  Syracuse Beer Week will kick off this Sunday, November 1st, with a Gala at The Genesee Grande Hotel.  There are still tickets available for the Kick-off Gala.  To purchase tickets contact Brian Duprey at 451-7250 by this Friday afternoon.  Syracuse Beer Week runs from November 1st through the 7th with many fun events all around Syracuse.  For a full list of Beer Week events click here
