Now that flu season is here are you ready to fight the bug and stay healthy? Holistic Health Coach, Heather McCoy says there are a few natural techniques to keep from getting sick.

 Healthy Foods

If you have a tendency of getting sick try these immune boosting foods. Garlic, mushrooms, kale and spinach are not only tasty but can lesson your doctor visits. If you are not getting enough of the nutrients you need from your food try a multi-vitamin as well!

 Lifestyle Changes:

If you feel yourself getting sick you may need to change your lifestyle patterns. Are you getting enough sleep? If you’re getting less than 6 – 8 hours a night, the lack of sleep may be making you sick.

Exercise is another way to strengthen your immune system. Heather says exercise can keep your lungs healthy. Studies show just 30 minutes of fast walking can help to boost your immune system.

Lastly if you’re stressed find a way to relax. Stress can lessen your body’s ability to fight off antigens. Stress can also have an indirect effect on your health. Some people adopt unhealthy practices to deal with stress.

 Clear Sinuses

If you are feeling stuffy try using a net pot. A net pot is a container that helps to clear the nasal. You can use this device to treat allergies, sinuses and colds.

Water is also a great tool to help you feel better. Water can clear toxins, get rid of congestion and keep your nasal passages clear.
