Grilled Rib-Eye Steaks
2 rib-eye steaks (3/4 – 1 lb. each)
Wegmans Basting Oil
Active time: 10 minutes
Total time: 20 minutes
Serves: 4
Clean your grill with a wire brush. Using a soft cloth, coat grill grate lightly with vegetable oil. Season both sides of the meat with salt and pepper. Drizzle both sides of the meat with basting oil, but be careful: too much oil will cause flare-ups on the grill.
Sear the meat on the grill until it has changed color ¼ of the way up from the bottom (2 to 4 minutes). Turn and sear the other side. Brush the seared meat with basting oil. Turn the meat back over, then brush the seared meat with basting oil. Reduce heat to MEDIUM for most cuts or LOW for cuts thicker than 1 inch.
Cook meat to desired internal temperature. Check by inserting a digital thermometer halfway into the thickest part of the meat, and then remove the meat from the grill.
