Weekend Anchor and Reporter
Racquel Asa is no stranger to the bone chilling winters of upstate New York. She comes to News Channel 9 after spending three years in Binghamton as an anchor and reporter for Fox 40 News WICZ-TV.
During her time in Binghamton, she covered the manhunt for Ralph "Bucky" Phillips, the Greater Binghamton Flood of 2006, Eliot Spitzer’s rise and fall as governor and Governor David Paterson’s swearing-in as the new leader of New York State. But above all, she loved hearing and telling people's stories of the Southern Tier.
She hopes to do the same as she calls Central New York her new home.
Racquel lives in Syracuse and is completing a Master of Science degree in broadcast journalism at Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.
