Racquel Asa is no stranger to the bone chilling winters of upstate New York. She first joined the News Channel 9 in 2008 after spending three years in Binghamton as an anchor and reporter for Fox 40 News WICZ-TV.
During her time in Binghamton, she covered the manhunt for Ralph "Bucky" Phillips, the Greater Binghamton Flood of 2006, Eliot Spitzer’s rise and fall as governor and Governor David Paterson’s swearing-in as the new leader of New York State. But above all, she loved hearing and telling people's stories of the Southern Tier.
Most recently, Racquel did an investigative series called "
Molly: The Suburban Drug of Choice." She also covered the disappearance and subsequent search for Jenni-Lyn Watson extensively.
Racquel holds a Master of Science degree in broadcast journalism from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.
