Tanja Babich joined NewsChannel 9 in 2007 as a reporter and weekend anchor and followed labor issues closely, breaking news on contract negotiations and the eventual fall of New Process Gear. She also uncovered the magnitude of losses suffered by Central New York trade unions in Bernard Madoff's Ponzi scheme.
Among her most memorable moments, Tanja chronicled the adventures of dozens of Central New Yorkers in Washington D.C. during President Obama's inauguration and reported live from Binghamton when a gunman killed 13 at an immigration center before shooting himself.
Tanja was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. She has a Bachelors Degree in government from Cornell University and a Masters Degree in journalism from Northwestern University.
