There is has been a lot of hoopla surrounding Syracuse basketball’s accession to number 1 in the national polls. It’s great for the fans, it’s great for area t-shirt stores (full disclosure: I do have an SU #1 tee but it is from 2 years ago) but I think it is time to shift our focus to what really matters now that the non conference schedule is almost done: getting through the Big East with minimal damage and securing a # 1 seed in the NCAA tournament.
Does SU deserve the top ranking?
With the Orange moving up to #1 in the college basketball polls this week, the questions were posed on our radio show “Does SU deserve the top ranking?” and “Is Syracuse really the best team in the country right now?” In my opinion, these are two different questions with two different answers.
