Allergy sufferers urged to start treatment now

Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- If you suffer from springtime allergies, did you know now’s the time to start treatment?

Allergists say steroid nasal sprays or antihistamines, such as Claritin, should start before significant symptoms. Two to three weeks before spring starts people with allergies should get a prescription for a steroid nasal spray.

Using them early can minimize your reaction to pollens and molds that can make allergy sufferers miserable.
