Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - The University of Rochester Medical Center is launching a central New York flu immunization program. It begins Monday and will hold more than 20 public clinics across our area through November.
The shots are for the normal, seasonal flu, and will not include the H1N1 flu vaccine.
Most major insurance plans are accepted and cover the cost of receiving a flu shot; insurance ID cards are necessary for proof of insurance. Otherwise, there is a $30 fee for the seasonal flu injection.
The nasal-spray flu vaccine will be available at some clinics for medically qualified people for a fee of $40. Clinics are open to people age nine and older. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
