Cornell Study says people pour more wine than they realize; find out why
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - A new study by researchers at Cornell University finds people are more generous in their wine pouring than they realize.
Many people pour about 12 percent more than a normal serving without even realizing it.
Researchers say people overpour if the glass is wide and the wine is white.
People do a better job doing a proper pour if the glass is on a table as opposed to holding it in their hand.
The study also suggests that people pour more accurately if the wine is red because of the contrast to the clear glass.
Researchers say knowing this can help people control how much alcohol and calories they’re taking in.
