Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - Dieters have long been told not to eat too many calories late in the day, but a new study suggests that dieters who eat lunch early lost more weight than those who eat a late lunch.

A study conducted by researchers at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston followed 420 people during a 20-week weight loss program.

They conducted the research in Spain, where lunch is often eaten later in the day and is typically the biggest meal of the day.

The participants who ate lunch before 3 p.m. lost 25 percent more weight than those who ate after 3 p.m.
