Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - Do microwaves zap nutritional value from vegetables? A registered dietician says microwaving vegetables is the best way to cook them, because most of the nutrients are retained.
 
The dietician's advice is to use a small amount of water and cover the vegetables so you steam them in the microwave.
