Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- There’s some new advice to help you enjoy that glass of wine without packing on the pounds. “The Hunger Fix” says alcohol temporarily keeps your body from burning fat.
Doctor Pamela Peek says when you drink, your metabolic system stops what it’s doing to get rid of the alcohol. That means you may stop burning calories.
To help keep your metabolism working, always eat when you have a drink. Also, know that some drinks may make you more hungry; the simpler the drink the better and stick to one drink or two tops.
After an evening of beverages, beware that you may wake up starving the next day, craving starchy and fattening foods.
