Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – 105 children died this past flu season, according to the Centers for Disease Control.

The death toll matches the annual average number of children taken by the illness.

The CDC says that 90 percent of the children who died had not received the flu vaccine.

Officials say children 6 months or older should receive the vaccine each year.
