No one knows exactly how much more ice cream we eat this time of year, but it's more than we eat in the winter. How do light and lower fat ice creams compare to the full fat versions?

Edys Rich and Creamy Mint Chocolate Chip has 170 calories and 9 grams of fat.  The Edys Slow Churned Mint Choclate Chip has 120 calories and four and a half grams of fat. The tasters said both were minty with lots of delicious chips though the lighter version was a bit gummier.

The Hagen Dazs regular coffee was highest in calories and fat than all of them, 260 calories and 17 grams of fat. Their lighter coffee has more calories and fat than the regular Breyers and Edys, 220 calories and 12 grams of fat.  However, the taste testers said it was even creamier than the regular Hagen Dazs.

What about price?

Breyers is the only brand that charges the same price for both regular and light.  The rest are all at least ten cents more a serving for the light ice cream.
