“I was wondering why the drug digitek has been on recall since Tuesday and no one has had it on the news. This is the generic of Digoxin and Lanoxin, and only the generic is being recalled.”

We didn't hear about the digitek recall to report it. We called a Syracuse pharmacist... He says it's a voluntary recall due to the possibility that the tablets were made thicker, and may contain twice the amount of the active ingredient. If you're taking digitek, you're asked to contact your physician. The drug is critical to treat heart failure and abnormal heart rhythms. It's still available, but the recall is causing a problem since digitek is already in short supply because of demand. There are other companies that make the drug, but on a smaller scale.
