Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - A NewsChannel 9 viewer recently asked if Gluthathione given intravenously is the only treatment that can reverse their mother's symptoms of macular degeneration.
The Department of Ophthalmology at Upstate University Hospital says it knows of no study that shows the effectiveness of that treatment in macular degeneration. There are no known treatments that can reverse macular degeneration, but there are treatments that can preserve vision and prevent future vision loss.
