Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Did you know many people have their water heater temperature set too high, putting their family at risk of burns? Johns Hopkins researchers
checked more than 700 homes and found 41 percent had water coming out of the tap at temperatures above 120, the maximum considered safe.
Tap water burns cause 1,500 hospital admissions and 100 deaths every year.
To stay safe, set your water heater to 120 or lower and hand test the hot water before using it.
