JAMA: Benefits of leukemia treatment outweigh risks

Every year, 12,000 people are diagnosed with an acute form of leukemia. A stem cell transplant is available to patients, but has serious, potentially fatal, side effects. A new study in JAMA shows that for most, the benefits far outweigh the risks.
