Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- Trying to cut your cholesterol? What you add to your diet may be more important than what you take away.

It’s called the Portfolio Eating Plan. People with high LDL, or bad cholesterol, who ate the following foods for more than six months, lowered their LDL more than the people who cut back on saturated fats. Those foods include: Soy products, almonds, olive oil, oats and barley.
