NYers who purchase health insurance can expect drop in cost
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – New Yorkers who buy health insurance on their own could soon see a decrease in cost as changes under the new health care law take effect.
New York State insurance regulators have approved rates for next year that are at least 50 percent lower.
The majority of New Yorkers receive health insurance through their employer, but as many as 17,000 buy insurance on their own and that number could grow with more affordable coverage.
The plans that will be offered under the new law come in four categories, ranging from least coverage to most.
