New flu shot is good news for people allergic to eggs
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – There is good news for people that suffer from serious egg allergies that need to get a flu shot.
There is a new vaccine that is made without eggs.
A federal advisory panel says it is only for adults ages 18 to 49.
The majority of flu shots are currently made from viruses grown in eggs, which could lead to allergic reactions.
The new “Flublok” vaccine is made with cell technology, which is also used for other vaccines as well.
