Report: Countries should raise the retirement age to correspond with longer lives

Paris, France (WSYR-TV) - A new report from a Paris think tank suggests that countries around the world need to raise the retirement age as people continue to live longer.

The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development says governments are going to run out of money if something doesn’t change.

The change is already arriving in the US, where Social Security has started paying out more and more benefits than it takes in.

The Congressional Budget Office is already talking about boosting the retirement age to 70.
