Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- Ever feel like technology is taking over your family’s life. Well, now’s your chance to disconnect.

It’s Screen-Free Week, a week sponsored by the Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood. During Screen-Free Week families are encouraged to go without TV, computers and video games.

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends limiting screen time of children over the age of two to no more than one or two hour per day.

Experts say today’s children and teens are spending about seven hours per day watching TV or using computers, cell phones and other electronic devices.
