Marcellus (WSYR-TV) -- A second case of pertussis – better known as whooping cough – has been reported in the Marcellus School District.

According to the school district's website, the newest case was reported at Driver Middle School. A letter was sent home to inform parents on January 11.

The first case was confirmed earlier this month at Marcellus High School.

Now may be a good time to review you child’s immunizations and make sure they're up to date. But remember, immunization does not guarantee that a child is 100 percent protected.

If your child is experiencing a cough, or cold-like symptoms, keep them out of school and call a doctor.
