2 b quite honest i think everyone is blowing this swine flu out of proportion so what urll have a bad case of the flu for 3 days n ur better more people die everyday from car crashes then the diseases ur all freakin out over. did u know once u get swine flu ur body is able to then fight it off faster n not as painful? if u have a low immune system then wash ur hands more n stay away from people that could have it n if u do get it thats y we smart people invented hospitals just sayin. if everyone keeps freaken out were gonna have a crisis on our hands over something so small n idiotic. im a young adult n ik this is gettin ridiculous. the baby that died had i think they said the flu n plus babies have low immune systems when their that little n the teacher had cancer. also if u die from the flu or swine flu ur obviously not takenin the proper care of urself hands down the swine flu is like anyother illness we all get on the daily basis but just cause its the first time u heard it or the first time u heard so many have gotten it doesnt mean the worlds comin to an end it just gives us another antibody we needed to live in todays day in age. we all need to learn that when someone gets sick not to freak out cause in the long run u find out all it is is another freakn strand of another virus that were use to n probably already had. just think well were here freakin out bout another flu theres men and women in Iraq fightin n gettin shot at in my opinion i rather make sure n talk bout the soldiers that r brave and strong n holdin down the camps over there cause a flu is a just a bug we can swish well the war is something thats helpin us b free from the fear of terror n free from communism n all the bad things those muslims had to live threw!!!

35,000 people die a year in the US from the common flu.

There are many more with the swine flu than are being reported. Many kids at schools are home and they fall into 4 categories, sick with HINI confirmed, sick with it unconfirmed, other illness ie ear infection, not sick staying home in case. We have no idea of which is which. They are asking people with the symptoms to stay home and not go to the hospital so that means there are many more than 70 with the flu.It is more dangerous that the regular flu because no one has been immunized for this strain making it much more contagious.More contagious makes it more dangerous for all of those with respiratory or immune type illness. Also the regular flu tends to happen in our colder season when people stay indoors and aren't out spreading it. I beleive they went overboard initially but now they are trying to down play which could ultimately be dangerous to many people!

I belive Beagalgal is totally incorrect on this one. As I said when there was one death, a vague term like undlying medical conditions can mean almost anything. Now there are two deaths in as many weeks. How many would it take for you to get concerned?

This news page makes it extremely difficult to get all the facts. Why are we the taxpayers not entitled to know how many confirmed cases in what schools and or businesses, locations of and amount with this horrible flu? Not asking for names or addresses just locations and areas throughout the state. Summer is upon us, school soon to be out; have our children been exposed, have we as parents been exposed, and when taking family vacations if only to the local parks are we further exposing our children and ourselves. If anyone reading this has a site with the information please write it down because 9 news sure does not make this one easy to find. PLEASE ALLOW THE PUBLIC ALL OF THE INFORMATION, not just tid bits.

If you ever have any underlying medical conditions, you always need to be cautious about what viruses are going around. This illness is just as deadly as the common flu - you have as much of a chance of dying from the common flu as you do from this swine flu; looking at statistics, you have MORE of a chance of dying from the common flu. They're not downplaying the severity of this illness, they're making it bigger than it should be. Whether you're elderly or have young children, have diabetes, heart disease, cancer, etc. you need to be just as worried about the seasonal flu as you do about the swine flu. Medical experts have said over and over that the swine flu hasn't been as deadly in the U.S. as it was in Mexico. If this was killing perfectly healthy adults, then we'd have something to really worry about. If you're feeling ill, just go to the doctor's and keep your hands washed and don't touch your face - all that crap they always talk about with illness prevention - then you'll be doing what you can to keep yourself healthy. I wish they'd stop making it breaking news every time someone dies of the swine flu. Or if they're going to do that, then make it breaking news every time someone dies of the common flu too - you'd find out that people have more to worry about with the common flu than the H1N1 virus.

It makes a bid difference to me to know for sure the my diabetes compromised me a little more to things than the average person.. Why are they downplaying the severity of this illness. I am sure that all those that have an underlying condition would like to know if they are a little more at risk.
