Albany (WSYR-TV) - Low-income women and their children will soon have better access to healthy, locally grown food.
Governor Andrew Cuomo’s office announced on Friday that more than $3 million has been committed to the Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program.
Families participating in the WIC program are eligible and can pick check at their local WIC clinic.
The check booklets will be available each month through September.
They contain six checks worth $4 apiece that can be used at Farmers’ Markets around the state.
