Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- The good news is that the flu is winding down in Central New York, but doctors say they're seeing more people with sore throats.

In Syracuse, Brighton Hill Pediatrics checks in with strep throat. They’re also seeing a virus that causes a cough and a fever.

In Camillus, Dr. Rovall says strep throat is starting up, along with a lot of colds.

The Urgent Care in Fulton is seeing sore throats, but they’re viral, not strep. There’s also been a notable decrease in flu cases.

In Cicero, Dr. Terasaka is seeking colds with a cough, a virus that causes pink eye and nasal congestion, as well as the stomach bug.

And in Auburn, doctors say they’re still seeing some flu, along with sore throats – both strep and viral – bronchitis and sinus infections.

What’s Going Around is our way of letting you know what illnesses are out there. Your own doctor can tell you about the best treatments.
