Central New York (WSYR-TV) – In our weekly segment called “What’s Going Around,” we check in with local doctors to see what sicknesses are out there. This week, a lot of people are coughing as we start the new year and there’s a stomach bug going around.
In Camillus this week, Dr. Rovall is seeing a stomach bug. The kids are vomiting and they have a fever, which usually lasts two to three days, according to Dr. Rovall. They’re also seeing the RSV virus, which causes wheezing in infants. Pneumonia is going around too.
In Syracuse, Brighton Hill Pediatrics checks in with a stomach bug as well, asthma flare-ups and there’s a virus going around that causes a sore throat, cough and fever.
In Fayetteville, Living Proof Longevity Centre is seeing bronchitis, upper respiratory infections and strep throat.
In Auburn, sore throats are going around, but they’re viral, not strep. They’re also seeing bronchitis, pneumonia and the stomach bug.
And finally, in Liverpool, Dr. Dracker is seeing babies with RSV, bronchitis, mono and strep throat.
What’s Going Around is our way of letting you know what illnesses are out there. Your own doctor can tell you about the best treatments.
