What’s Going Around 10-2-13
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - As we begin the first week of October, there are many illnesses going around according to area doctors.
Camillus: Dr. Rovall says he is seeing a cough that hangs around for 5 to 7 days. Some parents have brought their children back to the doctor worried that it's more serious, but he says it's just a virus that needs to run its course. Some of the children also have a sore throat.
Syracuse: Brighton Hill Pediatrics checks in with a similar virus, with a cough and runny nose. They’re happy to report lots of children are coming in for flu shots.
Fulton: The Urgent Care is seeing an upper respiratory infection and says strep throat is going around as well as sinus infections.
Pulaski: Dr. Carguello checks in with strep throat and says allergies are causing symptoms right now as people with asthma are having flare-ups.
Auburn: Auburn Internal Medicine is reporting upper respiratory illness, sore throats - both strep and viral - and bronchitis.
