East Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - It's known as hand foot and mouth disease, or Coxsackie virus and it's going around this week.

Dr. Rovall in Camillus is seeing lots of children with the Coxsackie virus, the telltale rash is visible on the palms and soles of the feet and often in the mouth as well. That office is also reporting patients with the stomach bug, poison ivy and many children with swimmer's ear.

To prevent swimmer's ear, especially for children who swim in lakes, they recommend over the counter drops to dry out the ear.

In Auburn, Dr. Graney's office also checks in with Coxsackie virus. They're seeing some flu and strep throat as well.

In Cicero, Dr. Terasaka is also seeing some strep throat, other kids have viral sore throats.  There's also a virus going around that causes a fever.  And they're seeing the stomach bug.

It's the same story in Syracuse, where Brighton Pediatrics reports the stomach bug, ear infections and a cough with a fever.
