Wintertime illnesses still affecting many in CNY: What’s Going Around

Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- As we head into March, lots of people are still dealing with wintertime illnesses.

As we check in with doctors around Central New York, we begin in Cicero.

Cicero: Dr. Terasaka says he’s seeing lots of colds with coughs. Older children have laryngitis and younger ones have croup. There’s also a stomach bug going around that lasts for 24 to 48 hours.

Fulton: The Urgent Care says they’re seeing sinus infections and bronchitis.

Syracuse: Brighton Hill Pediatrics says strep throat is going around and babies are wheezing from an illness called RSV.

Auburn: Doctors are seeing some cases of flu. Sore throats – both strep and viral – are also going around, as well as bronchitis and colds.

Pulaski: Dr. Carguello says they’re seeing the adenovirus, which is an infection that young children get and it can also cause pink eye and diarrhea. He’s also seeing upper respiratory infections.
