“Get Moving CNY!”  Exercise 30 minutes for 30 straight days and you can win great prizes… and a healthier outlook.  The program is a partnership between Onondaga County Parks and the Onondaga County Health Department’s “Eat Well Play Hard” initiative.

Families are encouraged to set aside 30 to 60 minutes a day to exercise, be active and have fun.  And if you can’t find a full half-hour, you can do it in shorter stretches throughout the day.  Log sheets are available at www.onondagacountyparks.com/getmoving.

Everyone (age 5 and up) who completes the 30 days of exercise is eligible for prizes… and all eligible entries will be entered into a grand prize drawing.

You must start the program by September 1st, and finish your 30 days by September 30th.  Logs must be submitted by October 9th to be eligible for the prizes.

Get complete rules and details at www.onondagacountyparks.com/getmoving, or by calling (315) 453-6712.

What Now?
Jane from Clay worries about her son's health. "For the past 2 yearly visits to the pediatrician, I have asked for help with my son's weight. He is now 8 years old, is 4"1" tall and weighs 94 pounds. Each time I have been told to 'increase his activity.' How? He is not a 'joiner,' and the few activities he likes are once a week for 7 weeks at a time. It's not working - now what?"
