Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - The American Film Institute recently
released a List of its Most Inspiring Films. The institute based the List on the following criteria: it has to have characters who face diversity and often make personal sacrifices for the greater good. A happy ending is not necessary, but the films must fill the audience with hope and the spirit human potential.
NewsChannel 9's morning team broke down the List during the Monday, Aug. 9 edition.
No. 5 - Mr. Smith Goes to Washington

No. 3 - Schindler's List
No. 2 - To Kill a Mockingbird
No. 1 - It's a Wonderful Life
