According to the Sheriff's Office, multiple vehicles were parked in the Burlingame Road residence's driveway and along the roadside when they arrived at 1:30 a.m.
Benedict was charged with criminal nuisance in the second degree, a misdemeanor.
During the day leading up the party, references to a party rippled across social media sites Twitter and Facebook. One image shows young people hoisting a banner that says “Project B” –
a possible reference to “Project X” copycat parties.
In addition, the Twitter hashtag #ProjectB became popular with people talking about the party on the social media site.
A picture from the photo-sharing site Instagram appears to show the Federal prosecutor with young people setting up for the party.
The charge against Benedict is not connected with underage drinking, but messages on social media from young people reference drinking.
“Hannah’s hammered, why do you get so emotional when you’re drunk,” wrote one of the young people.
The next morning, another Tweeted, “Well, I’ll be grounded for the next 8 weeks.”
