Geddes (WSYR-TV) – Lady Ann Candies has sold more than 2,000 strips of chocolate covered bacon – and that’s perhaps one reason why business is up 25 percent this year despite attendance being down.

But sales aren’t the only plus for vendors at the Fair.

For Rainbow Vacuums, the Fair has paid off in other ways, giving them exposure at one of the largest gatherings of people in Central New York.

“Business is generated after the fair, it's phenomenal -- the fair always brings business for months to come,” said Rainbow Cleaning Systems President Vincent Williams. "Talking to some of the other vendors, I still think overall they are really having a good fair.”

Attendance was up more than 20,000 on Sunday and Monday’s good crowds offered a boost to round out the 10 days.

The Midway also had a solid day. Last year, it hit a record with more than $2-million in sales. This year, officials say that could surpass the record.
