Geddes (WSYR-TV) -- State Police are investigating an incident that happened on one of the rides at the Midway earlier this week.
Part of a ride called “The Enterprise” flew off and hit two bystanders, according to police. They were not hurt. Police say a 40-inch disc at the center of the ride, used to cover an electrical component, came off.
“This big plastic plate…slid down one of the arms...rolled across the midway and hit a trailer about 20 feet across the midway,” said safety inspector Joe Gallagher.
The ride is operational again and no riders were ever in danger because the structure of the ride is safe, according to Gallagher.
