GEDDES, NY (WSYR-TV) - Sugarland fans who witnessed the stage collapse at the Indiana State Fair on August 13th were given tickets to see the band at the Fairgrounds in Geddes Saturday night.
Greg Johnson is one of those fans.
He tells us the band contacted people in their fan club and offered tickets and a meet and greet.
On August 13th, Johnson was up front in a special floor section called "The Sugar Pit," when the stage collapsed.
He drove 640 miles from Indianapolis with some friends to see Sugarland’s performance Saturday night at the Grandstand..
"Part of it is it's probably part of the healing process. The primal screaming that went on. The ambulances taking people away. It's not something that anyone would understand unless they were there and saw what happened,” said Johnson.
Johnson and his fan-club friends got tickets in the first few rows of the Grandstand.
While he said they weren't scared, sitting so close again did make them somewhat uneasy.
