Geddes (WSYR-TV) – About 1,000 Fairgoers were in for a surprise on Monday when the State Comptroller distributed 10s of thousands of dollars in unclaimed funds.
Thomas DiNapoli handed out $40,000 at the Fair – which is only a portion of the money available to New Yorkers who have unclaimed money waiting for them.
In Onondaga County alone, there are 100,000 accounts, totaling $40 million.
In order for residents to find out whether they’re owed money, the state has set up a special website.
Visit the Office of the New York State Comptroller’s website
