GEDDES, NY (WSYR-TV) – Takeru Kobayashi, of Japan, devoured 110 hot dogs in 10 minutes at Chevy Court at the New York State Fair on Sunday.

That total is a new world record.

The hot dogs of choice were none other than Central New York’s own Hofmann Hot Dogs.

Last month, the Kobayashi became the official brand ambassador for the company.

After the event Sunday, Kobyashi’s team challenged Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest champion Joey Chestnut and anyone else who usually competes at the July competition to a eat-off and declared Kobayashi would “beat them anywhere and any time.”

Through an interpreter, Kobayashi said he was very happy to eat the 110 hot dogs for everyone at the Fair.

He also called Hofmann Hot Dogs the best in the entire world.
