Geddes (WSYR-TV) - The State has spent a lot of money transforming the International Building to include a special showcase of local beers and wine. 10 varieties of beer and five varieties of wine are being featured.

Fairgoer John Hohm said he was impressed by the improvement over last year's fair. "I'm very pleased. I'm very impressed. It's a nice classy bar and they have a good selection of NY beers," he said.

Another fairgoer, Tony Martin, agreed. "I think it's a real nice improvement to the beer tent that we're normally used to. It's a real step up," he said.

The New York Brew Pub and Wine Bar believes location has a significant impact on the new bar's success. It is located just a short walk away from many popular attractions on the fairgrounds. "We're centrally located between Chevy Court and the Grandstand so everyone that is coming in is going to cross our path hopefully," said David Lynch.

Jim blasting and his wife were one of those who crossed the pub and bar's path on their way to see Aerosmith Thursday evening. "We're meeting friends here, it's a central location. Everyone knows where it is and there's plenty of room to sit down and relax. And it's great," he said.
