Geddes (WSYR-TV) Whether it's the food, the rides, the animals, or the exhibits everyone has their own reason for going to the State Fair. It was no surprise to Fair Director Dan O'Hara that 115,324 people enjoyed the Great New York State Fair Saturday, a new attendance record for that day. Overall last weekend,14,534 more people attended the fair than in 2009.
"We've got a great, great Fair here. This is everybody's Fair. It's the State Fair and I think people want to come out and enjoy the experience," said O'Hara.
Attendance is expected to shoot up again on Wednesday when big name acts Justin Bieber and Lady Antebellum perform on the same night.
